Week last HTC announced the release of updates to Ice Cream Sandwich. Among the winners was the Desire HD, It will not be the first to receive it, first going family Sensation, but sooner or more you will receive the latest version of Google’s operating system. If on the other hand you don’t want to wait, or are like a server who loves to tinker with Android, today we bring you good news.
Under the name of Ice Cold Sandwich We find a ROM of Ice Cream Sandwich for the HTC Desire HD based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project). Like all projects, began in an embryonic stage with more faults than virtues, but today, with its last update to version 2.0, it is fully functional and operational for the day to day.
Its main virtue: offering the Android experience without additives. If you are not familiar with Holo and ICS interface is a very good way to see what offers the new Google before manufacturers put up its software layer. In the case of the Taiwanese company HTC Sense 4.0, which we could see in screenshots recently.
The ROM is fully operational and although it has some bugs is fully operational. The only major problems that has are the camera application, which does not work properly but the rest of apps from the Android Market. On the other hand the playback of videos in high definition, that still does not work very well.
If you like to tinker and test new versions, I recommend that you take a look. The installation process, if you are familiar with flashing ROMs, is simple. Finally, we leave you a video of version 1.0 so you can see Ice Cream Sandwich running on the HTC Desire HD. Remember that the ROM is already on the 2.0, the video is just one example.
